Synalar (Fluocinolone)
Drug Uses
Synalar is used for relieving itching and inflammation of the skin. It may also be used for pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
How Taken
Use Synalar as directed by your doctor.
- Synalar is for external use only.
- Apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying Synalar, unless your hands are part of treated area.
- If Synalar is applied to a hairy site, the hair should be parted to allow the medicine direct contact with the skin.
- Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Synalar is a topical corticosteroid. Exactly how it works is unknown.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Synalar, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Storage
Store Synalar at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep Synalar out of the reach of children and away from pets.
